During his senior year at the University of Texas at Austin, Bismarck Moreno, a journalism graduate and GRUBBY’S PRO, LLC founder, broke a story for an Austin-based online paper about the struggles of hotel maids in San Antonio who had lost their jobs due to the coronavirus pandemic. According to Moreno, he had previously worked in hospitality and the maid stories felt very personal and wanted to help.

 

Every weekend he would travel to San Antonio to clean houses with the maids he met and provided a source of income for them and their families. What started as a job on the side, soon became a passion for Moreno who has been devoted to his small business since the summer of 2020.
